Some of you are probably wondering, 'how does an Indie author publish their work?' Well, I'll tell you.
I use Google Docs to write my novels. After I write the first draft, I invite a few friends to the document to make comments and edits. When editing is done, I format my book via Reedsy.com for eBook, paperback, and hardcover prints and find Beta readers. These readers receive a free PDF copy of my book via email, to read and give feedback on. During the Beta read time frames, I create my cover on Canva after getting the dimensions from Kindle Direct Publishing's (KDP) Cover Calculator. Now with Canva, you must have a paid subscription, otherwise you cannot use what you made. When all of that is said and done, I upload the document to KDP with the cover and publish. I can order proofs to see if everything is lining up before I publish and I can order author copies for just the price of printing.
